Guess who is fighting against stereotypes?

Latoya Burris

On Saturday, April 16, my friend Tanya, a candidate for the 2016 Miss New York Plus America will join the non-profit organization, Purposely Pretty, Inc from 2:00 - 5:00pm at their Pretty for a Black Girl Summit. These ladies are on a mission to combat stereotypes that impact African-American women. You probably heard a few of them, like "You speak like a white girl" or something egregious, such as "I thought your name would be ghetto, like Shaquisha."

So check them out in this fun video below, and don't forget to join them this Saturday and to share the video with your friends.
